The
Range

The Club has many ranges with heated shooting points which cater to all types of target shooting. These include Pistol, Mini rifle, Target Shotgun and Rifle being shot over various distances (10m to 600m) and from multiple stances (Standing, Siting, Prone and Moving).

Club Disciplines

Pistol

Pistol shooting consists of a range of disciplines (e.g. Service Pistol & Practical Pistol) in which smallbore and centre fire pistols can be used.

Gallery Rifle & Pistol

Gallery Rifle shooting consists of a range of disciplines in which rifles (Mini Rifles, Lever Action Rifles) are shot from the shoulder at various distances from 10m to 50m.

Full Bore Rifle

Benchrest

Precision rifle shooting where shooters aim to put five or ten shots into the smallest possible group on paper targets placed at 50m-600m from a seated position while the rifle is resting on a bench.

F Class

F Class consists of Modern Bolt-action Rifles, using scope attachments and rests at distances of 100m to 600m shot from the prone position.

Target Shotgun

(TS) includes any event that involves the use of a shotgun for the purposes of competition, specifically excluding clay shooting. Action types Include semi-automatic, pump action and lever action.

Practical Shooting

Practical shooting is a quick and energetic discipline that caters to rimfire and centerfire pistols, revolvers, Mini rifles and shotguns with each having their own classes.

Classic & Historic

This predominantly involves breech loading firearms from 1860 to 1960 but there is also considerable scope for muzzle loading firearms. Modern reproductions are quite acceptable as long as they conform to the spirit of the original i.e. they do not have to be precise replicas as long as no advantage is gained. Popular with WW1 and WW2 enthusiasts.

The Ranges

25m Range

This range is mainly used for Pistol, Airgun and Target Shotgun (using slugs). Targets can be shot from 10m to 25m and shot from any Freestyle position. This Range has sixteen shooting points.

50m Range

This range is mainly used for Rimfire Rifles, Lever action rifles chambered up to .455, Pistol, Airgun and Target Shotgun (using slugs). Targets can be shot from 10m to 50m and shot from benchrest and all freestyle positions. This Range has sixteen shooting points.

100m to 600m Ranges

These ranges are used for all types and Calibres of Long Range Rifles, chambered up to 8mm, shot from benchrest and prone positions. These Ranges have a total of 40 shooting points.

Shotgun Bays

These Bays are used exclusively for For Practical Shotgun and the stages are constantly changed to continually challenge participants.
